PART 1 - PART 2 - PART 3

O.k., more about shining surfaces... but this time we will work on shining isometric surfaces.

In this tutorial we will be using MS Paint.

STEP -1

As a sample I have created a big publicity panel. I drew an isometric rectangular block (1), divided it in 2 halves by it's diagonal (2), adjusted the palette (3) and wrote my name on the slanted face (4).

STEP -2

Time to fill our shining surface with a fill color (red in the sample) (5). Now to draw our glistening effect... but this time it will not be a diagonal but a straight line (6). With our fill color selected as transparent move the image over the shining effect we just drew to get something like (7). Just fill the blank space with the base color (8) and that's it.

STEP -3

To finish it up paint the parts of the letters affected by the effect with a brighter shade (9)... a few minutes work at most

That's all with this tutorial... hope it helped you learn how to create shining isometric surfaces.

Note 1: This tutorial just covers Pixel Art, to learn about MS Paint usage and options refer to your software help file.

Note 2: Depending on the side in the isometric surface you want to apply this effect on your lines must be drawn straight or diagonal.
